Genital warts can cause lots of discomfort and irritation to the skin around the effected area. Genital psoriasis, a condition that involves dry, flakey skin around genital warts, is one of the most unfomfortable. This is when the effected area is not getting enough water or oil. Replenishing the body's natural moisture in the area is the best way to treat this condition. Dry, flakey skin around genital warts is a common problem, but it is terribly uncomfortable because the skin in this area is especially sensitive.

Dermatologists say that the best way to handle this problem is to do what you would do with a dry scalp. You can use a special, medicated shampoo. Like shampoos made for dry scalps, you put it on and let it sit for five or ten minutes while you are showering. You can also use a gentle cortisone cream twice a day. Also, anti-itch creams help ease the suffering.

In the past, people used coal tar as a way to treat dry skin, especially in the genital area. This treatment has been improved upon and is used today in the form of various medications. You can get either prescription or over the counter remedies. These are often shampoos that you use when you bathe. There are also creams that you put on when you go to bed and wash off in the morning. The downside is that they smell a little and can leave stains on your clothes. Still, they are proven to be effective and safe.

An easy way to relieve some of the suffering of dry skin around genital warts is to wear loose-fitting clothes. Cotton, especially, is gentle on your skin. Clothes that are permanent pressed may be uncomfortable because they have formaldehyde, which irritates skin.

If you have dry, flakey skin, it may actually be a fungal infection. For this, you would need an anti-fungal which you would need to apply a certain number of times a day for up to ten days. These anti-fungal creams are usually used twice a day, and may be used in conjunction with your regular genital psoriasis treatment. If whichever treatment you are using does not show positive results after a couple of days, you should talk to your dermatologist and have them re-examine you.

Vitamins help slightly in treatment of genital psoriasis. Vitamins A and E, in particular, may offer some relief. Other people have tried acupuncture and other kinds of alternative health treatment. These methods are not scientifically proven, but those who have had success with them swear by them.

There is a chance that the dry, flakey skin will clear up on its own. On the other hand, sometimes it will seem to resist any kind of treatment you try. One factor that effects this condition is your emotional state and stress level, as well as the overall general health of your body. Keeping your life as stress-free as possible and eating well will both help with treatment.

Over 1 Million People Contact Genital Warts Every Year - Don't Become One Of Them

We're all afraid of something, and medically, there are few people who wouldn't be horrified to discover they have genital warts. Most sufferers are horrible embarrassed by the condition, and find everything about it scary. It doesn't help that it's a sexually transmitted disease, and sufferers always have to be conscious of the fact that they might pass it on. Like most medical conditions, however, the more you understand about what's happening and what you can do about it, the less fear you will feel.

Considering genital warts are rarely spoken about, it's surprising to find how widespread a problem it actually is. It's estimated that somewhere between ten and twenty million Americans have genital warts, with about one million more contracting the disease every year. Participating in unprotected sexual activity is the most likely way of catching genital warts, but there are also some groups who are more at risk. These include pregnant women, and people who suffer from some sort of immune system deficiency. Both these groups are more likely to catch the disease than the average person.

If you have any suspicion that you might have genital warts, then it's important to get it checked out by your doctor. It's quite possible for abnormal skin growths to occur in the genital region, which are in fact harmless that will disappear again without any treatment. Genital warts, however, are caused by the Human Papilloma Virus. It's the same virus that causes warts to grow on other parts of the body as well, with the hands and feet being common locations. It's a special variety of HPV that causes genital warts, which means that having warts on other parts of your body doesn't mean you'll also get genital warts.

Despite the fact that they are contagious, and spread through sexual contact, the warts don't actually cause a great deal of harm to the body. Probably the main medical issue associated with genital warts is an increased risk of cervical cancer in women. It's interesting to note that of women diagnoses with cervical cancer, around 90 percent have been diagnoses with genital warts. Remember, though, that having genital warts doesn't automatically mean that you will get cervical cancer. However it's wise to increase your rate of pap smears to one a year, instead of every two years, just as a matter of caution.

In the end, however, the best thing you can do for yourself is to avoid having unprotected sex. That way, your chances of contracting genital warts in the first place are almost non-existent. If you suspect that you do have genital warts, visit your doctor for a proper diagnosis. Genital warts aren't life threatening, but they're an embarrassing and annoying problem that is best avoided. So take care of yourself.

Get Rid Of Genital Warts

Do you have warts? Do you know what causes them? The fact is warts are caused by human papilloma virus (HPV). Since warts are caused by a virus they are contagious. Once you have been infected with this virus it stays with you for as long as you live. Skin warts or papillomas can be transmitted between individuals by a filterable infectious agent. If the virus is not treated within time it can cause skin cancers and other health related problems.

There are many different types of warts. The most common warts are the rough looking lesions most often found on the hands and fingers. The much smaller, smoother flat warts can be found on the hands and fingers also, but may even show up on the face and eyes. Warts on the bottom of the feet are called plantar warts and can sometimes be over an inch around. Genital warts develop in the genital and anal area; these have become a growing problem.

Warts (papilloma viruses) replicate exclusively on the surface of bodily tissues such as skin, mucosal surfaces of the genitals and anus, mouth and airways. Genital warts are highly contagious and also 90% responsible for all cases of cervical cancers and other health problems. HPV also decreases sperm count, which is one of the causes of infertility.

Laryngeal papillomatosis also know as recurrent respiratory papillomatosis is a rare medical condition caused by (HPV) infection of the throat that can lead to tumors. This condition obstructs the airway and without treatment is potentially fatal.

HPV is definitely not something you should take lightly. These dangers are very serious. Therefore removing your warts should be your first priority if you want to stay healthy and enjoy life.

Are you facing humiliation because of visible warts? Are warts interfering with your sex life? Do you suffer from diminished self-confidence? Have you tried prescription drugs? If yes, did they help or are you having any nasty side effects?

What if there was a natural way to get rid of warts for good and to completely control the virus? The good news is that there is a natural way for you to heal yourself without the nasty side effects and recurrences.

Regrettably, most doctors prescribe drugs that do not treat the virus effectively and in severe cases they even recommend surgery that can lead to scar tissue.

The following natural remedies have been proven to get rid of warts and to treat HPV. In order for the following treatments to work you have to keep your immune system in top condition.

1. *** Vitamins and Minerals... Take a combination of non-synthetic vitamins and a combination of non-synthetic minerals which must be taken during the same day, but at a different time of day from the vitamins.

2. *** Herbal Teas... Drink 2 to 3 cups a day of herbal teas. Especially teas with lemon grass, chamomile, and green teas.

3. *** Antiviral Oils... Applly topicaly with a cotton swab to the warts.

4. *** Hygiene... Did you know that there are over 60 thousand viruses on your skin? If you have contracted HPV you must pay strict attention to your hygiene.

5. *** Underwear... Wear only 100% cotton underwear and change them more then once a day. Only use natural detergent to wash clean your underwear.

6. *** Taping... This only works on some common warts. Wrap the wart completely and snugly with a few layers of tape. Leave the tape on for 6 to 7 days and then remove it for half a day. This may not work in the first week. Depending on the size of the wart you may have to repeat this for about three to four weeks before the wart disappears.

I must mention that if you are diabetic, do not try any home therapy for wart removal until you see your doctor. These are just some of the treatments that I know. But, there is an extraordinary home remedy invented by a naturopath/herbalist doctor with 25 years of proven experience. His treatments have been used by thousands who have become free of warts in a very short time of one week.

According to the American Academy of Dermatology, the number of cases of genital warts is growing at a phenomenal rate because genital warts are extremely contagious. It's also possible for an infected woman to pass on the virus to her child during pregnancy or birth.

It doesn't matter what genital warts look like because if you have the right home remedies you can actually eliminate them. You shouldn't have to put-up with warts, destroy them and regain your self-esteem, get your healthy sex-life back again.

Skin Tags - What Are Skin Tags, Can They Be Treated Successfully

Skin tags are most commonly seen in people sometime after midlife. Though they might be unsightly and worrisome, they are usually harmless. These benign growths, known as acrochordons, most often appear on the neck, armpits, under the breasts and in the groin area. They do seem to run in families.

What Causes Skin Tags

What causes a skin tag is really not known. However, the human papilloma virus, which causes warts, is thought to play a contributing role.

What Are Skin Tags

Skin tags are fibrous polyps which seem to suddenly appear on the skin. This can be very frightening if you have not seen one before. They look like a small pouch protruding from the skin on a stalk, and they are usually the same color as your skin, although they can be a shade or two darker. They are often mistaken for warts or moles since they are not too dissimilar in appearance.

Skin tags generally are not painful, except if they are located in an area where they can be irritated by rubbing clothes or other friction.

Skin Tag Treatment

Skin tags can remain forever without causing a problem. They are generally removed if they become irritated or painful, or simply as a cosmetic choice. Most people seek medical treatment to have a skin tag surgically removed. This can be accomplished in several ways:

1. Snipping off with a scalpel or scissors using a local anesthetic if needed.

2. Freezing or cryotherapy, is another option. However, this is not a first choice since it is not as precise as snipping and could cause damage to surrounding tissues. Also, this method can cause some pain and discomfort.

3. Skin tags can be removed with a laser. There may be some pain involved, but it can easily be treated with over-the-counter pain medications. This is probably the most costly method.

4. The suture method is simple. It merely requires the skin tag to be tied off with a surgical suture. This causes the blood supply to be cut off from the skin tag causing it to die and fall off.

As a general rule, none of these surgical procedures are covered by health insurance since they are considered cosmetic in nature. There are people who remove their own skin tags, but this is not recommended.
